Morning

The best part of every day.

(and a part I've been seeing a lot of when I get up early to study before work)

Pink

a little girl's dream tree

One of the perks of living different places is experiencing new flora. This is the first time I've lived in a house with a pink tree, and wow was it ever stunning!

favorite

Mom was cleaning out recently,
and last month when I was home I took a picture of one of my favorite childhood outfits.
This was my preferred wardrobe pick for Bible Study Fellowship day (Tuesday? Thursday? I can't remember...) when I used to go to the pre-school kids' class while Mom was in her Bible study once a week.

the story of our Sink Hole

note the warning cones marking the hole

Once upon a time last October, we discovered a hole in our front yard...
Turns out it was a small looking hole on top, and a hollow space large enough for a bear (or a small family of bears?? not sure...) to hibernate underneath the surface of the yard!
Oh no.

I learned a few things about sink holes the last few months:
Namely, they are very common in this area.
Also, they usually don't "swallow" houses here, and... are often repairable for around $10,000 (gulp!).

I thought you might like to see our local tax dollars at work repairing our big hole (thank you God, the sink hole was close to the road, and thus the responsibility of the township to repair).

down, down, down

no more hole!

I should have taken one final shot to show how beautifully the new grass has come up.
We are enjoying the return of a proper front lawn lacking a sink hole :).

Health

I spent a few minutes picking flowers from the yard and arranging bouquets around the house Thursday evening as a mental health activity :).

Home is where...

the Cookie House in the distance

the roads are straight,
the wind is strong, and
the ditches are enormous.
