animal stamps

One of the best parts of living near a tiny post office is the ease of purchasing fun stamps! I used to buy stamps at the grocery store (because it was convenient), but... I love choosing fun stamps for the same price(!) at the local post office. I was particularly excited to bring a sheet of these beautiful heritage animal stamps home with me on Saturday.

one year

Early in May we had a warm day, and Libby and I took a quick bicycle ride up to Sanford (and back!).
Although major clean up and rebuilding has taken place following the failure of the Edenville and Sanford dams in May 2020, much devastation remains.
Residents and business owners continue to recover from the massive flood.

Spring

Spring flowers bloomed for an impressively long season in mid-Michigan this year, thanks to the refrigerator-ish temperatures that lingered for weeks.

Point Betsie

While we were adventuring in April, Libby and I spent an evening at Point Betsie. Unfortunately the cloud cover was too thick for a notable sunset, but we still enjoyed watching the sky and listening to the waves lap against the breakwater behind the old lighthouse as we sat tucked in the cove of the tower, hidden from the wind.

Arcadia Dunes

Libby and I loved our mini visit to Arcadia Dunes in April.

The lookouts are 300-400 feet above the Lake.
