This Girl Sara...

...Is my amazing teamie.

And today we celebrated her birthday!

Here are a few things I celebrate about Sara:

-Sara has fine taste—coffee, Earl Grey tea, macadamia nuts, the colour gray, dark chocolate, pictures of her niece, her bedroom décor, high tea, clothing style

-Sara loves to give gifts—her generosity is beautiful

-Sara can make things happen—if a travel company is jipping you, I recommend employing Sara as your advocate

-Sara love, love, loves to read

-Sara keeps up-to-date on current news (she subscribes to a mad number of podcasts!)

-Sara bakes incredible bread

-Sara is a gracious host—she loves to turn on the little bedside lamps for guests who arrive after dark

-Sara is not afraid to ask questions (you wouldn't believe how much can be learned with just a few simple inquiries!) or to try new things—like stopping for picnics in the bush, or carting a bottle of chocolate syrup in her purse to dress up a bit of Wonderbake ice cream :)

-Sara is the oldest of her sisters—which always reminds me of my own big sister!

-Sara is gifted in helping to clarify ideas, plans, and feelings—she lets me talk through frustrations and offers practical suggestions

-Sara has charming curls (don’t you agree?)

-Sara cooks an amazing bowl of Chinese noodles

-Sara has a strong soul… if you’re loud and overpowering, you may never notice Sara’s lovely, individual self, because she’s rarely the one out in front.

Sara is the one who will have organized, arranged, cooked, and served a meal, and… lit the fragrant candle that’s flickering in the background for an evening with guests.

She’s also the one who jumps out on her own—learning from scratch how to survive in the States after having grown up in a different country (all those things you might never think about, like: setting up voicemail on her phone, finding a place to rent, landing a job, organizing insurance for her car… all on her own). She’s a brave soul.

Anyway- here’s to Sara.

Happy Birthday, friend!

~I’m so thankful for our times together as we both navigate this road called life.
May God’s blessings be upon your upcoming year!~

our birthday breakfast
(waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon for Sara, fresh fruit, and hot drinks)

this is going to be fun :)

  2. Happy Birthday Sara!

Julie: BTW--we don't "organize" car insurance in the states. I think that's a British usage.

    1. Oh. Oops. Did you know they "sort" everything too?!

ex: "are you sorted there? ...Are you sure?"
