One of my favorite places to wander through the neighborhood.

Red Sea Road

Red Sea Road

Ellie Holcomb

We, buried dreams
Laid them deep into the earth behind us
Said, our goodbyes
At the grave but everything reminds us
God knows, we ache
When He asks us to go on
How do we go on?

We will sing, to our souls
We won't bury our hope
Where He leads us to go
There's a red sea road
When we can't, see the way
He will part the waves
And we'll never walk alone
Down a red sea road

How, can we trust
When You say You will deliver us from
All, of this pain, that threatens to take over us
Well, this desert's dry
But the ocean may consume
And we're scared, to follow You

So we will sing, to our souls
We won't bury our hope
Where He leads us to go
There's a red sea road
When we can't, see the way
He will part the waves
And we'll never walk alone
Down a red sea road

Oh help us believe
You are faithful, You're faithful
When our hearts are breaking
You are faithful, You're faithful
Oh grant us eyes to see
You are faithful, You're faithful
Teach us to sing
You are faithful, You're faithful, You're faithful

And we will sing, to our souls
We won't bury our hope
Where He leads us to go
There's a red sea road
When we can't, see the way
He will part the waves
And we'll never walk alone
Down a red sea road

No, we'll never, walk alone
Down a red sea road
No, we'll never, walk alone
Down a red sea road

Kelly's Run // Winter Hike

Last Saturday, Vicky and I met up for a winter hike.
Kelly's Run (a 4 mile loop hike near the Susquehanna) was snow covered and absolutely resplendent with beauty. I couldn't soak in enough... and can't wait for our next winter hike.

Black and White and Color All Over

The piano keys are black and white but they sound like a million colors in your mind.
~Maria Christina Mena

Our apartment feels more homey, and my heart feels giddy at the luxurious pleasure of having a beautiful piano of my very own! Music is a joy of my life and it's marvelous to no longer be in piano starvation mode. Sometime in the latter half of 2020, I decided the piano desert in my life had lasted too many years and it was time to purchase a quality instrument I would love to play. My Yamaha Clavinova CLP 735 arrived 12 days ago; its black and white and color delight my soul.

First Snow Day Cinnamon Rolls 2021

Yesterday was the day of the first 2021 snow day cinnamon rolls.

It wasn't my first snow storm of the winter (we got some snow in Michigan when I was home over the holidays), or even the first snow storm of the winter here in Pennsylvania (they had a snow storm in December while I was away), but it was the first snowstorm I experienced in Pennsylvania yet this winter.

And that felt like reason enough to celebrate with nine fresh cinnamon rolls.

ooo.la.la.
delight.

Although I don't think the pictures turned out any too shab, these cinnamon rolls tasted even better than they looked.

Unfortunately, due to ongoing COVID-induced isolation from the rest of humanity, the coworks missed out on this edition of wintery, celebratory cinnamon rolls.

Maybe next time...
