I have friends in the States who post Bible verses on their
semi trucks, or display pro-life bumper stickers on their cars.
Here in Zambia ,
mini buses, cars, and trucks are typically inscribed with some sort of message.
Mini busses often have religious messages, like “Jesus is Lord,” or “Abba
Father” lettered across the front. Once in Choma, I saw a huge, pink semi tractor that said, “The Wife
said I could” in fancy letters across the back of the cab.
But last week’s sighting took the cake. Heather and I wish
we had a picture of the flat nosed semi that read, “Groly be to God” in large,
fancy lettering across the front of the truck.
Yes, indeed, Groly be to God. He is worthy, and I’m sure he doesn't mind when L’s and R’s are switched, as is commonplace here!
*Sorry, no picture of this remarkable truck! You’ll just
have to take my word for it… or better yet, come see it for yourself!*
Ah yes, inscriptions make the vehicles much more interesting :) Groly to God in the highest!
ReplyDeleteHummmm... R's and L's.... wonder why those two?
ReplyDeleteFun story even without the pic.
Jimmy's sermons are not spell checked cause your eye just needs the first and last letters to be right to recognized the word. So maybe one of Jimmy's sermons say Groly to God!
